Don't know. I just found a cave near the city and walked through it. I emerged and was back in Kanto. I don't try to understand what happened.

Eh, weirder things have happened. Actually, knowin' this school, I wouldn't be surprised if they had some sort of magical warp system. Would be one hell of a convenient transportation method.
